“Who does the person who gets a speeding ticket pay money to?”
(Mom) “The city. They use the money to help build parks, maintain roads, and keep the city a nice place to live.”
“Oh, so speeding is good!”

I asked my son Jack if he was scared by a cartoon he was watching.
He said: “No Dadna, because it’s just fake believe.”
“Mommy, do you and Daddy have enough money saved yet for me to go to college?”
– Katie, age 8
“This is just like the wise men! They brought Jesus gold, common sense and myrrh!”

“I have a cough and it feels like I’m coughing up diamonds.”

Isabella (Age 5) crawled into bed this morning at 5am and said, “How was the tooth fairy invented?”
I was too groggy to attempt an answer. Unfazed she said,
“Soon I want to be a paleontologist. Like when I’m 6. See, I said soon.”
Holding the dollar she found in her tooth pillow she said, “I think this is the tooth fairy’s way of saying congratulations.”
I over heard this while Isabella was playing with her friend Zoe.
Isabella “We can play with barbies. I have two and you can have one.
Do you want the zombie girl?”
“I’ll have the zombie boy.”
“There are no boys. My other one is the daughter of a sea monster. Her skin is blue and she has webbed hands.
She’s beautiful.”
This from my 5 year old, may she keep this perspective forever:
“You’re this much of my heart,” holding her fingers a few inches apart. “And other people too. But the biggest part is mine. Because you have to love yourself.
If you don’t love yourself then you can’t love other people.
If you’re mad at yourself then you’re mad at people.
Right?”
